Kathmandu, February 23:

Nepal will take on Italy on Thursday in the last but must-win match of the ICC World Cup Qualifying Series Division 2 Cricket Tournament, which has been held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

After a shocking 70-run defeat against Papua New Guinea on Monday, Nepal posted a five-wicket victory over Kuwait on Tuesday to keep their hopes of playing in the ICC Trophy alive.

PNG have already qualified for the semis from Group A, while Fiji and Qatar made it to the last four from Group B.

Nepal and Kuwait, both having two points apiece, are fighting for a spot from Group A. Italy, who failed to earn any point from two matches, are already out of the race.

Nepal can qualify if they beat Italy and PNG beat Kuwait. But, if Kuwait beat PNG and Nepal win, the team having better run-rate will make it to the semi-finals.
