Nepal to face Bahrain

KATHMANDU: Nepali youth football team will take on Bahrain in their second match of the AFC U-19 Championship Qualifiers at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on Thursday. Nepal, who faced a 2-0 defeat against hosts Kyrgyzstan in Group A match on Tuesday, need to beat Bahrain to keep their finals hopes alive. Bahrain will be playing their first match of the group that comprises five teams. Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates and Oman are also in the group. Currently, the UAE, who saw off Oman 5-1, and Kyrgyzstan are leading the standing with three points each. Nepal will take on the UAE on Saturday and will play their last match of the qualifiers against Oman on November 8. A total of 41 countries, who have been divided into 10 pools, are taking part in the qualifiers. Group winners along with five best runners-up and hosts Indonesia will earn berths in next year’s tournament.
