Nepal to face India in SAFF Women’s C'ship final today

KATHMANDU: Nepal will face India in the final of the SAFF Women’s Championship, today.

The two sides are all set to lock horns in the final match to be held at the Sahid Rangashala, at 3:00 pm today.

The home side defeated Sri Lanka, while the four-time defending champions India crushed Bangladesh by identical 4-0 score line in the semi-finals.

Nepal have never won a trophy despite playing in six finals but the home side look confident this time around. The team is ready to break the jinx.

Coach and former captain of the men's national team Hari Khadka told THT, “We no more fear playing against India and the team is geared up to prove that on the field one more time."

India have upper hand in head-to-head results but Nepal defeated the South Asian powerhouse 3-1 when the two sides came face to face last at the Hero Gold Cup match held in Guwahati, this February.
