Nepal win silver, two bronzes on first day of SAG
KATHMANDU: Nepal have won three medals -- one silver and two bronzes -- so far on the first day of competitions in the South Asian Games in Guwahati of India on Saturday.

Nepal had opened their medal account in the 12th South Asian Games with female lifter Devi Kumari Chaudhary winning bronze medal in 53kg category.
Later, Bikash Thapa grabbed silver medal in weightlifting in 62kg category, and Saroj Yadav won bronze medal in wrestling in 65kg category.
Thapa, who lifted 112 kg on snatch and 130 kg on jerk, had to be satisfied with the silver medal, while Anton Sudesh Peiris Kurukula Sooriyage of Sri Lanka seized the gold lifting 115 kg on snatch and 150 kg on jerk. Mostain Bella of Bangladesh won the bronze medal in the category.
