Team to go to India

KATHMANDU: A 15-member Nepali basketball team is on Tuesday leaving for India to participate in the FIBA Asia Challenge Cup Qualifying Tournament slated for July 6-8 in Bangalore. Sadish Pradhan will lead the squad that includes Binod Maharjan, Rajiv Joshi, Sonam Lama, Robin Khatri, Ayush Singh, Saurav Shrestha, Bikram Joshi, Ashim Shrestha, Sagar Thapa, Mabindra Bhandari and Ajay Kuswaha. Head coach Dinesh Chandra Nakarmi, his assistant Biku Maharjan and FIBA referee Raj Kumar Maharjan will accompany the players to India. Nepal will play against India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and the Maldives in the round robin league. The winners of the tournament will book a place for FIBA Asia Challenge Cup.
