KATHMANDU: Nepali boxers Santosh Rai and Pawan Bhattarai on Sunday left for Russia to take part in the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships which will take place in St Petersburg from November 17-26.

Rai will compete in the 52kg flyweight category, while Bhattarai will fight in the 60kg lightweight section. Coaches Prakash Thapa Magar and Kiran Thapa will accompany the boxers to Russia. Minister for Youth and Sports Daljit Sripaili and Nepal Boxing Association President Ram Awale among others bade farewell to the team on Sunday.
