KATHMANDU: The Nepali badminton players made a horrible start in the team event selection matches at the Asian Youth Under-16 Badminton Championship in Colombo, Sri Lanka on Monday. Nepal lost two singles and one doubles match on the opening day against Singapore. In singles, Bilal Warsi lost to MA Isarak 21-13, 21-9, while Dipesh Dhami was beaten 21-6, 21-5. In doubles, Bilal and Irfan Ansari went down 21-8, 21-14 to Singaporean duo of Chei and Ong. Later the Nepali team also lost their matches against Iran in the team event.
