NDA extend winning run to six matches

Kathmandu, January 23

Shivam New Diamond Academy defeated Nepal Police Club 3-1 to win their sixth consecutive match in the 13th Red Bull Dhorpatan UM Women’s Double League Volleyball Tournament here at the Dhorpatan Volleyball Training Centre courts in New Buspark today.

With the victory, NDA accumulated 18 points and shared the lead with Nepal APF Club, who also have 18 points from six matches. Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army Club are tied on 12 points with four victories in six matches. Tops HS School of Pokhara, who are unbeaten in three matches so far, have nine points.

In the day’s match, NDA took the first set 25-17 and extended the lead by winning the second set 25-15. The departmental side NPC bounced back in the competitive third set and claimed it 31-29 to cut the deficit. However, NDA won the fourth set 25-17 to maintain their unbeaten run in the tournament.

Similarly, Tops saw off Meghauli Sports and Educational Club in straight sets of 25-8, 25-13, 26-24. Also, Eastern Regional Volleyball Association recorded a hard-fought 3-2 victory over New Diamond Sports Club. Eastern took first set two sets 27-25 and 25-22 but New Diamond claimed the next two sets 25-18 and 25-21 to keep their hopes alive. However, Eastern came strongly in the final set and completed the victory with a 15-5 win.

Likewise, Shree Gaun Sports Development Committee beat Paramount High School 25-12, 25-17, 25-20.
