After All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), it’s Nepal Football Association (NFA) who is organising another ‘B’ Division League Football here at the Dasharath Stadium from Saturday.

The NFA said that league will see four teams promoted to the upper Division. “Nine clubs affiliated to NFA will fight for places in the ‘A’ Division League,” said NFC general secretary Indra Man Tuladhar here at a press meet today.

The teams have been divided into two groups with Saraswoti Youth Club, Gyan Bhairav, Bouddha and Mahabir pitted in Group ‘A’ while Brigade Boys, United Youth, Star Club, Boys Sports and Pulchowk Sports form Group ‘B’. Top two teams from each of the groups will be promoted for ‘A’ Division, said Tuladhar. “We were force to organise our own ‘B’ Division League after they (ANFA) organised it’s own,” added Tuladhar.

ANFA organised its own ‘B’ Division League in September with Swoyambhu Youth, Himalayan Sherpa, Bansbari and Koilapani Polestar qualifying for the upper Division.

The NFA league champions will receive Rs 100,000 while the next top three teams will get Rs 50,000, Rs 35,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively. Best individuals — goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, forward and coach — will also earn Rs 10,000 each.

The estimated budget of the tournament is Rs 1.3 million. The NFA affiliated ‘A’ Division clubs Manang Marsyangdi, Sankata, Ranipokhari Corner Team and Machhindra each have granted NFA Rs 200,000 loan to organise the league. “Each team will be provided Rs 50,000 as the preparation costs including Rs 50,000 worth of seasonal tickets,” said NFA president Bijay Narayan Manandhar.

Meanwhile, Manandhar claimed that the two warring FA’s have no alternatives other than to find a rightful solution to the current stalemate. “We have almost sorted out the differences on issues relating to the by-laws and are working out on the nature of the unified FA committee,” said Manandhar. Manandhar also informed that a meeting between the two FAs has been called for Sunday. Minister for Youth and Sports Gopal Shakya is mediating the talks, he said.

Manandhar believed that Sunday’s talk would probably end two-year football stalemate. “If the meeting fails to find any solution than we will go for the general assembly next month,” said Manandhar. The row between the ANFA and the various agitating groups including the NFA has stalled the ‘A’ Division League for the last two years.
