NIBL positive to invest more in Friends Club
Kathmandu, March 17:
Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) could possibly double their sponsorship deal with NIBL Friends Club.
Speaking at the thanks-giving programme organised by the club after their successful outing in the Martyrs Memorial San Miguel ‘A’ Division League Football, Jitendra Basnet, senior general manager of the bank, said that he would table the proposal to the board of the directors.
“I would definitely table the club’s proposal to double the sponsorship next year,” said Basnet. NIBL Friends Club finished seventh in the recently-concluded national league which Mahendra Police Club won. “We have long been associated with sports and we will continue supporting it in the future as well,” Basnet said. NIBL had singed the annual Rs 600,000 deal with the club last year.
All Nepal Football Association president Ganesh Thapa said Nepali football had achieved a lot in the last few years. “The success of football was largely due to the active participation of the clubs and the support of the sponsors,” Thapa added. Thapa also said that ANFA, in the next year, would try to find sponsors to those clubs who don’t have any.
The club thanked all their supporters, sponsors, donors, players and officials for their part in making the club’s successful participation in the national league. Friends Club president Ratna Shumsher Rana and general secretary Khagendra Prasad Poudel were also present during the programme.
