Nil David lift Twenty20 cup
Kathmandu, January 26:
Nil David Saloon beat East West Club by 34 runs to win the Twenty20 Open Knockout Cricket Tournament here today.
Electing to bat first, Nil David scored 135-7 in and dismissed East West for 101 in the 16.1 overs. Manjeet Shrestha made an explosive 46 unbeaten runs off just 34 balls while Sanjam Regmi scored 20 and Mehboob Alam 20. Mannu Kapoor took 2-26 and Birendra Shah 2-08 for East West.
In reply, Prem Chaudhary top-scored for East West with 27 runs. Manoj Baishya scored 17 and Raju Khadka 12. Man of the match Manjeet Shrestha returned with 3-31 and Santosh Baral took 3-18 for Nil David. Basanta Regmi also bagged two .
The winners and runners up got Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively in the tournament organised jointly by Fashion Link Event Management and Excel Business Link. Shakti Gauchan was declared the man of the series and won Rs 15,000 for his effort.
Other individual award winners were Ganesh Godhar of Ambition (best fielder), Sunil Shah of Mahottary (best wicketkeeper) and Nitesh Lochab of East West (best bowler). All the individual winners received Rs 8,000 each.
