Now on, four matches a day

Kathmandu, January 26:

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has rescheduled the ongoing Martyrs’ Memorial San Miguel ‘A’ Division League fixtures.

According to the new schedule both the venues — Dasharath Stadium and Armed Police Stadium — will host two matches a day with most of the participating 15 clubs forced to play four matches in five days. The organisers reached the decision after a meeting with the representatives from all the clubs.

ANFA rescheduled the fixtures due to national team’s preparation for the upcoming AFC Challenge Cup, which Nepal is co-hosting with Bangladesh.

In the previous schedule — which was amended due to the Dashain and Tihar break and national team’s participation in the fourth SAFF Championship — the clubs were forced to play in alternate days.

The fixtures came under fire and almost all the club coaches blamed the lack of rest for the players behind their teams’ poor performance after the break.
