Gorkha, September 27:

New Road Team (NRT) wrapped up their nationwide tour with a 2-2 draw against Gorkha-XI in their last of the eight friendly matches here today. The tour was managed by the Nepa~laya.

The local team took the lead in the 32nd minute through Bimal Ismial but Nabin Neupane levelled the scores in the 65th minute. Anil Gurung then put the A Divison outfit ahead three minutes later. Shanker Shrestha struck three minutes into the extra time to end the match in a 2-2 stalemate. NRT general secretary Binay Pradhan said that they would give continuity to the tour the next year as well. Of the scheduled eight matches, one in Nepalgunj was cancelled due to rain.

NRT won five matches and played two draws, the other one in Jhapa. NRT won in Janakpur, Itahari, Nawalparasi, Baglung and Mahendra Nagar. Apart from the friendly matches, the club also conducted football clinics for local children and referee workshops during the tour.
