NTA helps Tuladhar

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Taekwondo Association (NTA) today handed over Rs 262,180 for the treatment of former Nepali taekwondo international Manju Tuladhar.

The NTA vice-president Kiran Baidhya handed over the amount to Tualadhar which was collected by a nine-member fund-raising committee established by the Nepal’s taekwondo governing body. The eighth South Asian Federation (SAF) silver medalist Tuladhar has been diagnosed with failed kidneys and has been undergoing dialysis twice a week. Doctors have advised her for the kidney transplantation at the earliest. Tuladhar also has a gold medal under her belt at the second National Games in 1983 apart from bronze medals at the Asian Taekwondo Championship in 1998 and the third National Games in 1985.

The amount was collected with donation from the newly elected NTA 22-member executive committee, taekwondo coaches who are currenlty in Macao, one-day paycheck of the coaches affiliated to the National Sports Council (NSC), Patan Higher Secondary School and taekwondo players. The total amount included individual donation of Rs 50,001 from NTA vice-president Baidhya.

NTA president Praskash Shumsher Rana and member Sanjeev Tualdhar donated Rs 10,000 each while vice-presidents trio Sunil Malla, Sanjeev Regmi and Bhoj Bahadur Shah contributed Rs 5,000 each. The NSC have also committted Rs 500,000 for the treatment of the former Nepali taekwondo international.
