Open Snooker begins
KATHMANDU: The All Nepal Open Snooker Championship began here on Wednesday. A total of 128 players from Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Hetaunda, Biratnagar, Pokhara, Butwal, Sunsari and Kavre are participating in the tournament organised by New Durbar Square Club of Khichapokhari, informed tournament convenor Deepak Shrestha. On the opening day, Sampurna Jung Shah, Nitesh Khandwal, Nitesh Raj Bhandari, Rajan Gurung, Jimi Lama and Dinesh Dangol won their first-round matches. Earlier, former Nepal champion Saroj Kumar Mulmi inaugurated the tournament. The winner will receive Rs 50,000, while the runner-up get Rs 25,000 and the highest breaker earn Rs 8,000.
