Opening match of ACPL postponed

KATHMANDU: The opening match of the Asian Club Premier League match between Nepal Storms and Dubai Warriors was postponed.

The organisers, Ultimate Sports Management cited technical reasons for the postponement of the match at the TU Stadium.

The organisers informed that the match will be held on Tuesday. However, they had an opening ceremony.

The competition features six franchise-based teams — Nepal Storms, Indian Stars, Dubai Warriors, Bangladesh Tigers, Afghanistan Bulls and Sri Lanka Lions. The six teams will play against each other in the round robin league with top four making it to the semi-finals.

The event carries a total cash purse of Rs 6.4 million with top three teams earning Rs four million, Rs 1.6m and Rs 800,000 respectively. The player of the series will receive a car.
