PARIS: Jakub Blaszczykowski scored to give Poland a 1-0 halftime lead over Switzerland in Saint-Etienne.

Blaszczykowski sent a low shot between the legs of Switzerland goalkeeper Yann Sommer after Kamil Grosicki drew in the defense in the 39th minute. It was his second goal of the tournament.

Poland created almost all the danger, while Switzerland only had Fabian Schaer's timid header to show for their ball movement.

Poland forward Arkadiusz Milik squandered an opportunity seconds after kickoff at Stade Geoffroy Guichard, shooting wide with the goalmouth open.

Grzegorz Krychowiak also wasted a good chance when he headed a corner well wide.

Robert Lewandowski's troubles in front of the goal continued. The Poland striker hasn't scored a goal in the tournament.
