Province 2 set final date with Province 7

Kathmandu, May 1

Province 2 and Province 7 advanced to the final of the Manamohan Memorial Inter-Province U-16 National Cricket Tournament at the TU Stadium today.

In the day's semi-final matches, Province 2 thrashed Province 3 by 41 runs, while Province 7 saw off Province 1 by five wickets. The final will be played on Wednesday.

In the second semi-final match, Province 2 scored 216-5 in their allotted 30 overs after put into bat first and packed Province 3 for 175 runs in 28.5 overs.

Province 2 posted the mammoth total riding on skipper Amit Yadav's 74-ball 86 that included eight boundaries and a six. Player-of-the-match Bibek Yadav scored a quick fire 26-ball 63 not out with the help of a four and seven sixes. Sujit Shah chipped in with 35 off 43 balls that included three boundaries. Pratish GC and Sushant Karki claimed two wickets each for Province 3.

In reply, skipper Pratish GC top scored for Province 3 with 21-ball 48 hitting three boundaries and four sixes, while Sambhav Shrestha scored 34 off 43 balls that included three boundaries. Opener Deepak Bohara chipped in with 30 off 31 balls with the help of four boundaries.

Bikram Kushwaha was the pick of the Province 2 bowlers taking 4-24, while Sunny Sah claimed 2-22. Bibek Yadav, Samsad Ali Mansuri and Trit Raj Das claimed one wicket each.

In the first semi-final, Province 1 scored 148-8 in 30 overs and Province 7 raced to 150-5 with eight overs to spare. Suwash Ayer scored 29-ball 37 hitting seven boundaries and Rajan Singh contributed 32 off 28 balls with the help of three boundaries and a six for Province 7. Rahul Bhandari scored an unbeaten 25 off 20 balls hitting four fours. Sameer Timilsina, Bibek Mehta and Navneet karna claimed one wicket each for Province 1.

Earlier, Province 1 posted the fighting total after Bibek Mehta smashed 22-ball 41 with the help of five boundaries and two sixes, while Rajan Magar scored 22 off 42 balls that included four boundaries. Player-of-the-match Narendra Sawad returned with the figures of 4-13, while Manoj Lothyal claimed 2-30 and Rahul Bhandari took 1-16 for Province 7.
