Puri wins Indian Ambassador Caddies’ Golf Tournament

Kathmandu, August 12 :

Sudarshan Puri won the Indian Ambassador Caddies’ Golf Tournament held at the Tribhuvan Army Officers’ Golf Club (TAOGC) on Friday.

Eight caddies from the TAOGC took part in the competition organised by Embassy of India to encourage and motivate the caddies towards golf and play for themselves.

Indian ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shanker Mukh-erjee gave away prizes to the winners and participants amid a ceremony.

“We awarded all the participating caddies with a club each so that they could share the clubs and play golf together,” said Major Rakesh Bhardwaj, assistant military attache at the Embassy of India.

Krishna Pant finished runner up while Bishnu Shrestha came third in the competition.

The embassy also awarded other five caddies (golfers) in five different categories — longest drive, nearest to the pin, most birdies, best sportsmanship and the consolation prize.
