Rawal struggles against Kakchapati

Deependra Rawal of Kumari Bank defeated Bhushan Kakchapati of Chartered College of Management and Accounts in three sets at the First Corporate Snooker Tournament, which has been organised by Annapurna Post in association with Hotel Shahanshah here today.

Rawal won the first set 50-38, but could not dominate in the second and lost 26-46. He came back stron-gly in the third set and wra-pped with a 59-14 win to advance to the third round.

In other second round actions, Binay K Regmi of Nabil Bank defeated Bikas Shrestha 34-29, 48-39; Rajendra Devkota of Kumari Bank beat Raju Karki 46-27, 41-42, 48-15; Bishal Shah of Himalayan Bank Ltd beat Uday Manandhar 37-34, 12-68, 60-47; Samraj Gurung of Hotel Moon Light beat Samit Shrestha 63-43, 33-70, 51-49; Prabin Pant of Standard Chartered beat Mohammed Zainal 64-18, 68-6; Deven Gurung of Peregrine Adventures beat Jangbu Sherpa 45-38, 72-14; Bharat Bastakoti of Hotel Shahanshah beat Raju Shrestha 58-57, 43-45, 54-14; and Binod Shrestha of Gulf Air beat Mahendra Dangol 52-8, 68-8. Rakesh Raj Joshi of Ace Finance Co Ltd earned a walkover from Suraj Chhetri.
