RCT enter final

DHARAN: A Goalkeeper Dillip Chhetri blocked to spot kicks as Rani Pokhari Corner Team (RCT) of Kathmandu defeated hosts Dharan Football Club 4-1 in the tie-breakers to reach the final of the 12th Budha Subba Gold Cup Football Tournament here at the proposed Eastern Stadium today.

The match was decided in the tiebreakers after both the teams failed to score in the regular 90 minutes and 15 minutes of added time. Man of match Dillip saved the spot kicks of Krishna Sunuwar and Yogesh Rai to knock the hosts out from the semi-finals.

Krishna Kunwar, Santosh Gurung, Deepak Rai and Uttam Gurung converted the first four spot kicks for RCT. Rohit Rai was the only player for Dharan to find the back on the net in tiebreakers. Earlier, both the teams muffed up many scoring chances. In the second semi-final match on Thursday, Nepal Police Club will take on the Himalayan Sherpa Club of Kathmandu.
