KATHMANDU: Rhododendron International Boarding School (RIBS) entered the Super League of the Coca Cola National Inter-school Football Tournament here at the at Sano Gaucharan on Friday.
RIBS defeated Peace Nepal 3-0 in the Group B final. Amrit Pokhrel opened the scoring in the 27th before Sanu Rai doubled the lead in the 48th minute. Amrit put the issue beyond doubt scoring his second and team’s third in the 78th minute.
In the Group C matches, Budhanilkantha Modern Committee, Gambhir Samundra Setu and Jana Prabha registered wins. Budhanilkantha beat Nava Manju Shree School 3-2. Gautam KC, Sabin Shrestha and Suman Karki scored for the winners, while Bipin Ghising scored both the goals for Manju Shree.
Likewise, Gambhir Samundra thrashed The Blue Moon 8-0. Ramesh Budha scored four times, while Ashish Magar struck twice and Bibek Das and Sushil Sunuwar netted one each for Gambhir Samundra. Also, Jana Prabha beat Deep School 4-0 on goals from Purna Man Lama, Krishna Maharjan, Susan Ghormi and Nabin Magar. At the FIFA Technical Centre in Chyasal, Man Singh School and Shangri-La Public School advanced to the Group F semi-finals.
Man Singh beat Koplia English School 5-0. Sonam Ghale struck twice, while Anil Shrestha, Pradeep Devkota and Nilesh Tamang netted one each for the winners. Shangri-La Public defeated Adarsha Soul School 5-3. Ramesh Dhital scored a brace, while Amul Karki, Prakash Lama and Dawa Singh Yalambu netted one each for Shangri-La. Daman Ghimire, Sudip Tamang and Niresh Maharjan scored for Adarsha Soul.
In other matches, Bright Future beat Imperial 4-2 in tie breaker after a 2-2 draw, while Nandi School defeated Suryodaya after a 1-1 draw in the normal time.
