RNGC donates Rs 100,001 to flood victims

Kathmandu, August 11:

Royal Nepal Golf Club (RNGC) donated Rs 100,001 to the Prime Minister’s Fund for the flood victims today. The fund was raised through a Charity Golf Tournament at the RNGC in which a total of 76 golfers including eight ladies participated for the cause of the flood and landslide victims in the different parts of the country.

RNGC President Madhukar Yakthumba handed over the cheque to Finance Minister Ram Sharan Mahat during the prize distribution ceremony. RNGC vice president Prachanda Bahadur Shrestha and RNGC captain Rabindra Man Shrestha were also present.

Earlier, played at Stableford Full Handicap format, Maj Lil Bahadur Gurung won the tournament with 38 points ahead of Pradeep Kumar Shrestha, who accumulated 34 points. Shreejay Acharya won the best gross award.

Sumitra Dayananda won the Ladies section title with 32 points, while Shastika Shrestha finished second with 30 points. Maj Man Bahadur Limbu claimed the Senior section ahead of Maj Gen Kiran Shumsher Rana.

Tahir Shah made Hole-in-One at No 3, while Maj Gen Gajendra Bahadur Limbu walked away with the Most Birdies award. Other winners were Lt Gen Victory SJB Rana (Longest Drive) and Madhukar Yakthumba (Closest to the Pin).
