Houston, April 25:
Andy Roddick easily handled weak-serving Sebastien Grosjean of France 6-2, 6-2 for his 17th career title and third US Men’s Clay Court Championship in five years on Sunday. Roddick, playing his first tournament since a wrist injury forced him out of the ATP tournament at Key Biscayne three weeks ago, needed just 70 minutes to complete a run through the tournament field without losing a set. Grosjean, who upset second-seeded Andre Agassi en route to the final, struggled with his serve from the start.

BARCELONA: Rafael Nadal beat Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-1, 7-6, 6-3 in the all-Spanish Open Seat Godo final for his second claycourt title in two weeks. Without losing a set, 18-year-old Nadal won his fifth career title, a week after winning the Monte Carlo Masters. After losing the first set, 2001 Barcelona champion Ferrero led 3-1 in the second-set tiebreaker but Nadal set to work firing shots out of Ferrero’s reach to win it 7-4. Nadal raced to 3-0 in the third, and cruised to his fourth championship this season in just under three hours.
