Jhapa thrash Far-west, make it to last four

Rumpum Jhapa-XI thrashed Far-west-XI 4-0 to enter the semi-finals of the Rumpum Jhapa Gold Cup here at the Domalal Stadium today.
Ajayi Martins Kiyode scored a brace and Buddha Chemjong netted a goal, while Far-west’s Rakesh Mahal scored an own goal.
Jhapa took the lead in the 30th minute after Far-west’s Hamal scored an own goal while trying to clear Martins’ attempt.
Jhapa then added three more goals after the interval. Chemjong doubled the tally in the 46th minute, while Martins found the back of the nets two minutes later. Martins scored his second and team’s fourth goal in the 88th minute utilising a cross from Dilen Loktam.
Jhapa also wasted a couple of goal scoring chances with Chemjong hitting the cross bar in the ninth minute. Jhapa’s Martins won the man-of-the-match award and received Rs 7,000, while Keshab Lama was the lucky spectator to win Rs 5,000.
On Thursday, Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club will play against New Road Team.
