BUTWAL: Rupandehi-XI defeated Sunsari-XI in sudden death and advanced to the semi-finals of the 21st Tilottama Gold Cup here at the ANFA Technical Centre grounds on Sunday.

The match was decided on the second kick of sudden death after both the teams netted three goals each in penalty shootout. Earlier the teams failed to break the deadlock in the regulation period. Sabin Gurung and Nishan Neupane scored for Rupandehi in sudden death, while Ramesh Rajbanshi converted from the spot and Umesh Rai wasted the shot for Sunsari.

In penalty shootout, Ramji, Kuldip Karki and Bishwas Shrestha scored for Rupandehi, while Anup Gurung and goalkeeper Kishore Giri wasted their attempts.

Likewise, Jiwan Raj Dhami, Roshan Bhujel and Nikesh Tamang scored for Sunsari, whereas Manindra Yakha and Dipen Tamang missed their shots.
