Durban, November 23:

Jacques Kallis struck a century before South Africa’s fast bowlers sealed a crushing 157-run win in the second ODI against India at Kingsmead on Wednesday. Kallis made 119 not out as South Africa reached 248-8. India were then skittled out for just 91 in reply, with Andre Nel taking 4-13 and Kallis 3-3.

The win gave South Africa a 1-0 lead in the five-match series after the opening encounter was rained out. The match turned irrevocably in South Africa’s favour when Dravid (18) was bowled by Charl Langeveldt and Tendulkar (35) was bowled by Nel three balls later. The home side were wobbling at 209-7 with 26 balls left but Kallis and Nel put on 39 for the eighth wicket before Nel was run out for 22 off the last ball.
