Sachdev wins SIRC Charity Golf

Kathmandu, November 17:

Suman Sachdev won the fifth SIRC Charity Golf Tournament with 38 stableford points here at the Le Meridien Gokarna Forest Golf Resort and Spa today.

Lobsang Tashi, with 37 points, came second in the event organised by Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre (SIRC). Defending champion Tashi Ghale won the best gross award with 34 gross points.

Eu Hazur Thapa claimed the ladies section award with 32 points, while Kesang Lama accumulated 28 points for the second position. Lobsang Tenzing earned 34 points to win the senior section award, while Sachdev also bagged the closest to the pin award.

Tashi Tsering won the longest drive award, while Pradeep Kumar Shrestha got the most birdies award with two birdies. A total of 62 golfers took part in the tournament organised to raise funds for the spinally injured patients who are unable to afford treatment costs.

In the Putting Competition organised for the non-golfers, Anupa Rimal came first in the junior section.

Milan Dixit and Kumudini Shrestha finished first and second respectively in the women’s section. Dr Sajju Shrestha and Dr Anil Shrestha won the top two awards in men’s section. Kanak Mani Dixit, chairman of SIRC, gave away the prizes to the winners.

Nepal Investment Bank Ltd was the main sponsor of the event and was co-sponsored by Airtech, ICTC and Universal Group. Summit Hotel, Gemini Supermarket, Laxmi Bank Limited, Manakamana Darshan Pvt Ltd, Himalayan Bank, Siddhartha Bank and Golden Leaf were the supporters of the tournament, while The Himalayan Times was the official media.
