KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Sandhya Kumari Singh won gold medal, while Nirita Yakthumba bagged bronze in the Chuncheon Korea Open International Taekwondo Championship in Chuncheon, South Korea on Thursday.

Singh defeated a player from Kyrgyzstan 26-12 in the first match before outplaying her Russian opponent 30-8 in the final bout of the U-57kg weight category, informed team manager Deepak Bista.

Similarly, Yakthumba had a bye in the first match before she faced a 12-10 defeat at the hands of her Kyrgyzstan opponent in the semi-final bout.
