Sangina, Deepak selected for 10th SAG
Kathmandu, July 9 :
Nepal Taekwondo Association selected the eight men and five women players for the 10th South Asian Games to be held from August 18-28 in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The winners in each for the seven weight categories in men and five in women were picked up for the regional tournament.
Among the men selected are Kumar Manandhar of Nepal Police (finn weight), Amar Raj Lama of Siraha (fly weight), Ganesh Khadka of Nepal Police (feather weight), Pitambar Upretti of Nepali Army (light weight) and Ram Saran Chaudhary of Chitwan (bantam weight). Gold medallist in the eighth SAF Games in kathmandu and ninth SAF Games in Islamabad, Deepak Bista, was selected in the walter weight along with Ghanashyam Khaka of Nepal Police (middle weight) and Sunil Singh of Chitwan (heavy weight).
Yan Kumari Chaulagain of Bara (finn weight), Padma Gurung of Chitwan (bantam weight), Ayesha Shakya of Kathmandu (light weight) and Manita Shahi (feather weight) were chosen for the women’s event. Two times gold medallist (8th and 9th SAF Games) Sangina Vaidya was selected from the fly weight.
