KATHMANDU: The meeting of South Asian Olympic Council discussed the possibilities of hosting the 13th South Asian Games in Nepal. Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha chaired the meeting in Vietnam on the sidelines of the fifth Asian Beach Games being held in Danang.

President Shrestha reiterated Nepal’s stance of organising the SA Games on time.

“We will discuss all the matters during the SOAC meeting slated for the first week of December in Kathmandu,” said Shrestha.

According to Nepal Olympic Committee Executive Secretary Sujan Shrestha, Sri Lankan representatives expressed their willingness to host the Games if Nepal were unable to organise the event on time.

NOC and SOAC General Secretary Lama Tendi Sherpa and NOC Treasurer Ratan Tandon also attended the meeting.
