Saradevi, Prajwal lift Badminton title

Saradevi Tamang of MPC defeated Sumina Shrestha of MPC 13-11, 11-0 in women’s singles in the final of the third Birthday Badminton Tournament here today. Chandra Shekhar Lama and Pushpa Tamrakar of Dharan outplayed Madhav Thapa and Naresh Bahadur Singh of Armed Police Force 15-1, 15-11 in the veterans doubles final. Prajwal Jung Rana of MPC defeated Bikram Shahi of Banke in the straight sets of 7-3 in the final of junior singles category. In the men’s doubles semi-final, Balaram Thapa and Indra Mahat of AFP beat Pashupati Paneru and Navaraj Joshi of MPC 15-8, 15-6; Pankaj Chand and Ram Singh Chaudhari defeated Anoj Basnet and Rohit Tandon of Banke 17-4, 15-2. Balaram Thapa and Puja Shrestha of AFP beat Bharat Shrestha and Saradevi Tamang of MPC 15-10, 15-3 in the semi-final of mixed doubles.

Saradevi Tamang and Sumina enter the final beating Puja Shrestha and Samjhana Khaling 13-11, 11-6 and 11-8, 11-5 respectively. Prajwal Rana beat Rakam Limbu 15-6, 15-0 and Bikram Shahi defeated Sahadev Khadka 15-5, 15-10 in the semi-final of junior singles. Balaran Thapa beat Indra Mahat 15-9, 15-8 and Pashupati Paneru defeated Pankaj Chand 15-12, 15-11 in the semi-finals of men’s singles. Bina Tulachan and Krishna Pun defeated Mina Pakhrin and Maya Gurung 7-15, 15-6, 15-1 and Puja Shrestha and Samjhana Khaling beat Sumina Shrestha and Saradevi Tamang in the semi-final of women’s doubles. In the semi-finals of veteran doubles, Madhav Thapa and Naresh Bahadur Singh defeated Mahesh Shrestha and Kumar Pradhan 15-4, 15-10 and CHandra Shekhar and Puspa Tamrakar beat Ramesh Bhattachan and Chandra Gurung 15-13, 15-2.
