Kathmandu, November 21

Soaltee Crowne Plaza is organising the SCP Golden Jubilee Golf Tournament at the Gokarna Forest Resort this Saturday to celebrate the completion of 50 years of Soaltee Hotel Limited Kathmandu.

More than 100 golfers from across the nation are expected to take part in the one-day event which will be played under stableford 3/4 handicap format, informed the organisers at a press meet today.

“The golden jubilee celebrations will begin on November 25 and continue for a week with numbers of events,” said the organisers in a release.

Board of Director at Soaltee Hotel Limited Bijay Bahadur Shrestha said the tournament would be a platform where lot of golfers could showcase their talents.

“As it is the golden jubilee celebration, we have invited players from Pokhara and Dharan to join the golfers from Kathmandu this time around.

We want this country to be developed as a tourism and golf destination,” added Shrestha, who himself is a veteran golfer.

Upaul Majumdar, General Manager at Soaltee Crowne Plaza said the tournament was one of the events organised to connect the clients. “We do several events to connect our clients and this golf tournament is one of the endeavours,” said Majumdar.

Senior Golf Director at Gokarna Golf Club Deepak Acharya and Assistant GM Marketing at Pooja International Devashish Biswas were also present on the occasion.

The tournament features overall, gross, women, senior, junior, sub-junior, super senior and five-star categories, while awards will be given to longest drive, closest-to-the-pin and most birdies. Cathey Dragon, Nabil Bank, Tele Talk Pvt Ltd, Civil Homes and Pooja International are the sponsors of the tournament, informed the organisers.
