SCP Super Sixes from Monday
Kathmandu, October 16:
The final preparation of the 10th Soaltee Crowne Plaza (SCP) Super Sixes cricket tournament,
scheduled for October 20-25 at the TU Stadium, is complete, said the organisers at a press meet today.
The 22 corporate teams have been divided into four groups and the top two teams will advance to the quarter-finals. All the quarter-finals, semi-finals and championship match will be played on October 25. Soaltee Crowne Plaza has been organising the event with the theme “All play no work”.
The Group A includes Embassy of India, The Himalayan Times, The Himalayan Bank, The Everest Bank, Citizens Bank and New Business Age while Group B comprises Standard Chartered Bank, Bottlers Nepal Ltd, Embassy of Pakistan, Shikhar Insurance and the hosts Soaltee.
Likewise, Kantipur Group, Siddhartha Bank, Nabil Bank, NIC Bank and Surya Nepal are pitted in Group C. Kumari Bank United Finance, Avenues TV, NMB Bank, Fedex Express and Spice Nepal Pvt Ltd are in Group D.
General Manager of the hotel, Greesh Bindra, said they have been promoting sports tourism by organising events like golf tournament and the cricket tournament. Bindra also revealed his plan to extend the Soaltee Super Sixes by inviting teams from South Asian regions.
“Moreover, I am also considering to organise a cricket clinic by inviting renowned Indian cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar or Harbhajan Singh next year,” Bindra added.
