Sharanamati Gold Cup from December 5 in Jhapa

Sharanamati VDC of Jhapa district is all set to organise the first Sharanamati Gold Cup International Invitational Football Tournament at Janata HS School grounds from December 5-12.
A total of eight teams, including one from India, will take part in the competition, informed tournament coordinator Gajendra Tamli at a press meet here today. Hosts FC Jhapa, Church Boys, Jhapa-XI, Morang FC, Nepal APF Club, Kankai Sports Foundation, Kanchanjunga FC of Siliguri and Sunsari FC will compete in the tournament.
Top two teams will receive Rs 101,111 and Rs 61,111 respectively. The player-of-the-tournament will earn Rs 10,000, while the best players in different positions will get Rs 5,000 each. The hosts informed that the tournament will cost Rs 2.1 million. “We have been organising the tournament to make Sharanamati VDC popular in the country as well as to provide a platform to the players of the region,” said Tulsi Ram Pyakurel, President of tournament organising committee.
