Sherpa wins Captain’s Day golf crown

Kathmandu, April 26:

Ang Tsering Sherpa accumulated 32 stable ford points to win the Captain’s Day Golf Tournament organised by Royal Nepal Golf Club today.

Played under stable ford ¾ handicap format at the Royal Nepal Golf Course, Deep Bahadur Basnet came second with 31 points. Tashi Ghale won the best gross with 31 points and also bagged the most birdies award with four to his credit. Maj Narendra K Rai came first in the Senior section with 30 points. Sandhya Rai bagged the Ladies section trophy with 30 points, three more than runner-up Sumitra Dayananda.

Joseph Nathan accumulated 24 points to win the Guest section trophy. Other winners of the tournament were Tashi Sherpa (Longest Drive), Dawa Sherpa (Closest to the Pin) and Niranjan Sharma (Best Sportsmanship). RNGC President Madhukar Yakthumba and
