Shuttlers off to Pak

KATHMANDU:  An 11-member Nepali badminton team, including seven shuttlers, on Sunday  left for Islamabad to take part in the Pakistan International Series  slated for November 9-12.

Ratnajit Tamang,  Dipesh Dhami, Sajan Krishna Tamrakar, Bishnu Katuwal, Nangshal Tamang, Sunaina Mukhiya and Shova Gauchan will compete  in the event.

In the previous edition, the pair of Nangshal Devi Tamang and  Ratnajit Tamang had won gold medal in mixed doubles event, while  Nanghsal had bagged bronze in singles category.

Coach Jayant  Shrestha, team manager Sunil Shrestha, Nepal Badminton Association President Ramjee Bahadur Shrestha, and General Secretary Birendra Shrestha  also accompanied the players to Islamabad.

Meanwhile, NBA Vice-president  Uday Kumar Shrestha and Secretary Nabin Bikram Shah among others bade  farewell to the team.
