Shuttlers selected for Nepal Int’l Challenge

Kathmandu, October 14

The Nepal Badminton Association has selected players for the Yonex Sunrise Nepal International Challenge slated for November 13-17 in Kathmandu.

Nepal will field 10 players in men’s singles and eight in women’s section, while the home side will have five pairs in men’s doubles and four in women’s category. Likewise, five Nepali pairs will fight in mixed doubles.

Ratnajit Tamang, Dipesh Dhami, Bikash Shrestha, Nabin Shrestha, Prince Dahal, Prafulla Maharjan, Sunil Joshi, Bishnu Katuwal, Jeevan Acharya and Sajan Krishna Tamrakar were selected to compete in men’s singles.

The men’s doubles pairs picked up for the tournament are Ratnajit Tamang/ Dipesh Dhami, Bikash Shrestha/Bijeet Thapa Magar, Nabin Shrestha/Prince Dahal, Bishnu Katuwal/Jeevan Acharya, and Sunil Joshi/ Prafulla Maharjan.

Likewise, Rashila Maharjan, Jessica Gurung, Sima Rajbanshi, Anu Maya Rai, Amita Giri, Sita Rai, Nita Lamsal and Shova Gauchan will fight in women’s singles, while the pairs of Pooja Shrestha/Jessica Gurung, Amita Giri/Anu Maya Rai, Rashila Maharjan/ Sita Rai, and Nita Lamsal/ Sima Rajbanshi will compete in doubles event.

The pairs picked up for the mixed doubles event are Ratnajit Tamang/Anu Maya Rai, Dipesh Dhami/Shova Gauchan, Bijeet Thapamagar/ Pooja Shrestha, Bikash Shrestha/Sita Rai, and Nabin Shrestha/Amita Giri.
