SIRC Charity Golf Tournament today
Kathmandu, November 16:
Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Centre (SIRC) is organising the fifth SIRC Charity Golf Tournament
here at the Gokarna Forest Golf Resort and Spa on Saturday.
The organisers are expecting around 120 golfers and non-golfers at the annual fund raising event which is being sponsored by Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. Airtech, ICTC and Universal Group are the co-sponsors of the tournament which aims to help the spinal-injured patients who cannot afford to pay their costs.
“SIRC is a non-profit charitable association and we will use the raised funds for those who need the treatment and cannot afford the costs,” said Esha Thapa, Director at the SIRC. The day will also feature Putting Competition, Jungle Walk and Grand Lunch for the non-golfers. “Apart from the main event for the golfers, there will be lots of fun for the non-golfers,” she added. The participants can win exciting prizes, relax and enjoy good food and drinks.
Prominent amateur golfer Tashi Ghale is the defending champion of the tournament. Last year, Ghale — playing with one handicap — won the trophy with 39 stableford points.
Summit Hotel, Gemini Supermarket, Laxmi Bank Limited, Manakamana Darsan Pvt Ltd,
Himalayan Bank, Siddhartha Bank and Golden Leaf are the supporters of the tournament, while The Himalayan Times is the official media of the event.
