Six karatekas selected
KATHMANDU: Six Nepali players will take part in the 24th SKDUN World Shotokan Karate Do Championship and ninth SKDUN World Kohai Invitational Cup to be held in Burgas, Bulgaria from October 7-9. Five male players booked their places for the championship in different weight categories, while a female player was picked up for the 55kg section through a selection tournament conducted by Nepal Shotokan Karate Association. Adarsh Bikram Thapa (40kg), Yam Bahadur Tamang (50kg), Suman Waiba (55kg), Niraj Maharjan (60kg) and Roshan Magar (70kg) will compete in the men’s category, while Gita Sunuwar will vie in the women’s section. Govinda Shrestha is the team coach for the tour, informed NSKA Secretary Dhirjeman Tamang.
