Soaltee ‘A’ outplay Radisson, win Celebration Cup

Kathmandu, September 19

Soaltee Crowne Plaza ‘A’ won the title of the Soaltee Celebration Cup Inter-hotel Futsal Tournament here at the Kumari Futsal today.

The hosts ‘A’ team defeated Hotel Radisson 7-2 in the final match. Surendra Shahi scored four goals alone, while Dipu KC netted two and Sanjay KC scored one for the winning team. Dipesh KC scored both goals for Radisson.

Earlier, Soaltee ‘A’ beat Park Village 3-2, while Radisson defeated Akama Hotel 6-5 in the semi-final matches. Akama finished third after they beat Park Village in penalty shootout. Top three teams earned Rs 200,000, Rs 100,000 and Rs 50,000 respectively. Dipesh KC of Radisson and Ganesh Khadka of Akama were joint highest scorers with 10 goals each and they shared the top scorer’s award of Rs 10,000.

A total of 10 teams from nine hotels took part in the one-day event. Park Village, Radisson and Yak and Yeti were drawn in Group A, while Annapurna, Shangri-La and Akama were in Group B. Soaltee ‘B’ and Dwarika’s were in Group C, whereas Soaltee ‘A’ and Kathmandu Marriot were in Group D.
