SAG Infrastructure devt responsibility handed to Ghale

Kathmandu, July 30

The 13th South Asian Games Preparation and Management Committee meeting today handed over the responsibility of infrastructure development to Nepal Golf Association General Secretary Tashi Ghale.

Ghale was named the convenor of the Infrastructure Development Sub-committee, which will be responsible to prepare a detailed report of new infrastructure and maintenance of the existing ones within 15 days.

Ghale was also the convener of the Dasharath Stadium construction committee during the eighth SAF Games held in Kathmandu in 1999.

“I will inspect all the venues suitable for the games throughout the country and assess their condition in 15 days. After that I will prepare a detailed report for the construction of new venues and repairing of the existing facilities,” Ghale said.

The meeting, chaired by Minister for Youth and Sports Satya Narayan Mandal, also formed a Working and Facilitation Sub-committee under National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista.

Similarly, the meeting decided to establish South Asian Games Secretariat at the International Sports Complex in Satdobato, Lalitpur.

National Sports Council Vice-president Lama Tendi Sherpa, Nepal Olympic Committee President Jeevan Ram Shrestha, secretaries of various ministries among other were present in the meeting.

The Cabinet had on July 15 formed the main organising committee under Prime Minister and Preparation and Management Committee under Youth and Sports Minister.
