PHIDIM: Sunsari secured a semi-final berth after edging APF football club by 3-0 of the ongoing IX Ruslan Falgunanda Gold Cup, in Phidim of Panchthar district, on Sunday.

Hemanta Thapa Magar scored a brace on the 27th and 37th minutes of games via free-kicks, played at the Phidim Higher Secondary School's ground.

Tirtha Basnet rattled the net after just six minutes of play in the second half of the quarter-finals.

Magar was awarded man of the match trophy and collected Rs 10,000.

In tomorrow's play, hosts Phidim Sports Club will take on Birta United Jhapa in other quarter-finals.

10 teams, comprising of A division clubs from Nepal and India, are participating in the tournament.

The final will be played on December 31.
