KATHMANDU: Sushil Lama of Province No 1 and Binita BK of Province No 5 won gold medals in the U-18 category poomsae at the fifth National Taekwondo Tournament here at the Olympian semi-covered hall on Friday.

Lama defeated Sumit Lama of Province No 7 in the men’s final, while BK saw off Ramila Budha Magar of Province No 6 in the women’s section final.

Also, Ramila Budha Magar and Surya Budha Magar won the Above-18 team event gold.

Narayan Singh Thing of Province No 3 won the men’s above-31 individual poomsae, while Bijay Maharjan of Province No 7 came second.

Earlier, National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshab Kumar Bista inaugurated the tournament organised by National Taekwondo Association-Nepal.

A total of 140 players from seven provinces are taking part in the event.
