RUKUM: Samriddha Samaj Nepal is organising the Twenty20 Cricket Tournament in Rukum from January 9-11.

Clubs from Rukum and neighbouring districts will take part in the first cricket tournament of the district.

The tournament will be held at the Chourjahari grounds, informed the organisers. The top two teams will receive Rs 30,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively along with trophies, medals and certificates, while the losing semi-finalists will get Rs 7,000 each, informed Samriddha Samaj Nepal President Subodh Raj Sirpali.

Man of the match will be awarded with Rs 500, while the best bowler, batsman and midfielder will get Rs 2,000 apiece.

Likewise, man of the series will receive Rs 3,000.

Tournament convenor Raju Lamichhane said they would organise the event every year in coordination with District Sports Development Committee and Regional Sports Development Committee.
