TAC hand Kirtipur first defeat

Tribhuvan Army Club and Golden Gate International Colleges won their matches of the Kwik’s Basketball League here today.

In the day’s second match, TAC thrashed Kirtipur Basketball Team 111-64 riding on Rabin Khatri’s 31 points and

10 assists.

TAC took the first two quarters 27-17 and 26-12 to open up a 24-point lead. TAC claimed the third and fourth quarters 27-17 and 31-18 respectively to win the match by huge margin.

TAC’s Ayush Singh netted 24 points, while Sadish Pradhan scored 22 points with four assists and Binod Maharjan contributed 19 points.

The win was seventh consecutive for TAC, who accumulated 21 points to lead the standing.  Kirtipur, who lost their first match of the competition, have 12 points from five matches.

In another match, Golden Gate thrashed Himalayan Hounds 94-50. They accumulated 12 points from eight matches. Golden Gate took the first quarter 27-18 and dominated the remaining three periods 21-8, 22-6 and 24-18.

Golden Gate’s Rajiv Joshi netted 26 points, while Manish Raj Rajopadhyaya scored 16 points. Similarly, Manish KC netted 18 points for Himalayan Hounds and Bijay Burja added 11 points.
