Talent hunt main objective

Kathmandu, December 15:

National Campus of Business Studies is organising the inter-college cricket tournament from December 17 in memory of their founder Dr Thakur Nath Panta with the main objective of talent hunt.

After the grand success of the first edition of the tournament, the NCBS is organising the second edition including 32 teams at the Tundikhel grounds. The tournament, which also aims to build brotherhood among the colleges, is believed to bring out the talents.

The NCBS has also raised the prize money and have also announced to award the best batsman, bowler, wicketkeeper and the man of the match in every game. They have estimated the total cost this year to be around Rs 300,000. But the main attraction of the event will be the selection of a talented player. The best player of the tournament, who will be selected by a committee also including representatives from Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), will get an opportunity to participate in the district-level tournament to be organised by the cricket’s governing body.

The player might open the doors for national and international tournaments representing the country, which in itself is a matter of pride for the players and a success organisation for the hosts. The 15-day event will feature a total of 31 matches and the players will get extra boost by the man of the match in every game.
