Team to go to Qatar

KATHMANDU: A three-member Nepali shooting team is on Sunday leaving for Qatar to participate in the 14th Asian Shooting Championship slated for November 3-14 in Doha.

The eighth National Games gold medallist Susmita Nepal and Kalpana Pariyar will compete in 10m Air Rifle event in the championship, which also serves as the selection tournament for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Both Nepal and Pariyar have made the cut in the 13th South Asian Games squad.

Nepal Shooting Association Secretary and former chief coach Pradeep Khati will accompany the players to Qatar.

National Sports Council Member Secretary Ramesh Kumar Silwal bade farewell to the team on Saturday.
