KATHMANDU: Nita Singh Thakuri defeated Ramala Karki 22-20. 20-22, 21-19 in the women’s singles match of the badminton tournament under the first Inter-enterprises Games here today. Dhruba Gurung earned a walk over win from Sudarshan Thapa in the men’s singles match.

In the men’s volleyball, National Sports Council (NSC), Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA), Nepal Telecom, Nepal Airlines Corporation and Nepal TV registered wins. NEA and Cultural Corporation won their matches in the women’s section.

In chess, Bikash Man Lama and Triratna Shakya of NEA, Madan Bir Singh Dangol, Asta Narayan Maharjan and Sajunath Khanal of Nepal Bank, Gobinda Khadka of Nepal Telecom and Krishna Raj Khanal of Gorkhapatra won their matches. In badminton, Phanindra Poudel of NSC, Surendra Raj Baniya of NTV, Hari Krishna Shah of NEA and Jitendra Rajthala of Janak Sikshya registered wins.
