Lt Col (retd) KNS Thapa won the second edition title of the Surya Nepal Gokarna Monthly Medal Golf Tournament here at the Gokarna Golf Club today.

The 16-handicap amateur golfer scored eight-under 64 to finish first in nett section, while Ang Dorjee Sherpa was runner-up with the score of five-under 67. Shyam Khadka came third with the score of two-under 70.

Tendi Sherpa won the gross section title with the score of five-over 77, while Tenzing Yonden Lama lifted the junior category trophy with the score of four-under 68. A total of 34 players participated in the event sponsored by Surya Nepal Pvt Ltd. Captain of Gokarna Golf Club Joseph Nathan handed over prizes to the winners of the tournament.

With the win victory in the second edition of the tournament, Thapa moved on top of the nett section with 240 points. Dr Bhagwan Koirala fell to second with

200 points, while Tendi Sherpa and Rekha Ghimire shared the third position with 130 points. Gokarna Captain Nathan is fifth with 110 points.

In gross section, SSP Rajendra Shrestha and Tendi Sherpa shared the top spot with 50 points each, while Andy Murray and Thapa are tied for third with 30 points. Dr Koirala and Shyam Simkhada are fifth with 20 points each. In junior section, today’s winner Lama earned a share of lead with Devasri Rana with 80 points, Tenzing Sherpa and Arnav Shah are joint third with 20 points.
